Anna Banana (34/52)Continuing on the topic of wellness, physical wellness is something that must be kept in mind because in order to achieve wellness in all the other aspects attainable you must remember being fit comes along with it. Most people do not understand that you can be fit, but that does not mean that you’re fit in a healthy manner. That also encourages questions about health to be asked.   • What do you think of, when you hear the term health?
  • What kind of picture is created in your head, when someone tells you, that they are healthy?

You probably already know that in order to prevent the occurrence of heart disease, you should eat foods that are less fatty, or to reduce the possibility of cancer should not smoke cigarettes, and also to practice preventive medical examinations.

But this is still not the whole picture of physical health. Other components are also important, including:

1. Social health, which is the ability to interact with people and the environment in which interpersonal relationships will be carried out with a pleasant feeling.

2. Mental health is the human ability to learn and to soar intellectually.

3. Emotional health is the ability to control emotions and opportunity for appropriate expression.

4. Spiritual health is a belief in a unified force, which is different from person to person.

So when we talk about health, we shouldn’t only focus on our body, but to be interested in social interaction, intellectual dimension, emotions and spirit. Health is the sum of the physical, social, emotional, mental, spiritual status, and the balanced and healthy nutrition.

All these health components are present to a greater or lesser extent. If these components are balanced, then we can say that someone has a perfect wellness condition.

WHAT does it mean to be fit?

To be “fit” means to own all of the above identified aspects or components of fitness. But not only the physical but also the social, mental, emotional, spiritual, and the most important: balanced and healthy diet.

In the past, people significantly less get sick of modern diseases such as cancer, heart disease, blood pressure, etc… And it owes on the much more active and less stressful life, the organic and healthy food, and the soil at that time was much richer in minerals than today.

Avoid failure

No one sets out to change with a plan to fail, but if you make your expectations and time frame too ambitious, that could be the ultimate effect. “Behavior change takes time. Moving toward a healthier lifestyle is all about replacing old habits with new, healthy habits. Focusing on too many changes at one time is likely to lead to failure,” says Heather Mangieri, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, the owner and nutrition consultant for Nutrition CheckUp, LLC. She’s also spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Instead, focus in on one change at a time, no matter how tiny.

“When we focus on small changes, one at a time, they are much more likely to stick. Over time, all of the small changes lead us to a healthier life. It’s important to remember that living a healthy lifestyle is a journey, not a destination,” says Mangieri.

Making a dent in your weight

When researchers at Cornell University’s Food and Brand Lab launched the National Mindless Eating Challenge (NMEC), they found that if participants kept to their little eating changes for at least 25 days in a month, then they saw their weight decline. “Of the 504 participants who completed at least one follow-up survey, more than two thirds (42 percent) either lost weight or maintained their weight (27 percent). Weight loss was highest among people who made changes consistently,” reports Medical News Today. The study was published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.

What’s your change?

Ready to make small changes to work toward your goals? Try these:

  • Drink two glasses of water as soon as you wake up.
  • Trade one of your usual junk food snacks for fruit or veggies.
  • Skip soda. Drink water instead.
  • Indulge — in moderation.
  • Eat off of smaller plates.
  • Start your dinner with a salad.
  • Don’t eat after a certain time of day or evening.

You can reduce your risk of developing heart disease or having a sudden cardiac death.

The good news is there are many things we can do to reduce our risk. Quitting smoking, identifying and treating high blood pressure, knowing and managing our cholesterol, relaxing and exercising more in order to ease some of our daily stress, and preventing or carefully managing diabetes are all things we have some control over. We know that people with diabetes have a three times higher risk for developing cardiovascular disease than individuals who are not diabetic. Cardiologists consider the diabetic patient to have the same risk as a patient who has had a previous heart attack.

Watch your weight and be mindful of not only what you eat but how much. Being overweight or obese tends to increase the risk for heart disease, not to mention many other serious medical conditions. Making healthy food and beverage choices is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Choose foods in “nature’s own wrapper” and avoid foods high in saturated fat (animal fats) and cholesterol. Avoid trans fats entirely. A high-fiber diet will help you manage your weight. Salt (sodium) often worsens high blood pressure, so limit your salt intake to about three grams (3000 mg) daily. Avoid simple sugars like those found in soda, candy and desserts.

Remember to exercise regularly. Physical activity is critical to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Keeping your weight down will result in lower cholesterol and blood pressure. The U.S. Surgeon General recommends that adults engage in moderate-intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes most days of the week. Get plenty of good sleep. Obesity is three times more common in people who get fewer than seven hours of sleep per night. Poor sleep is also associated with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and many other medical conditions.

Get regular physical checkups and talk with your doctor about your personal risk for heart disease.

For the beginner, it can be very good initially to build size and jumpstart the fat burning.

But I don’t recommend it for intermediate and advanced athletes anymore, but that is another story for another day. Pushups are another one I like to see in any workout program. This exercise has the capability to really minimize and tone the size of your waistline. It kind of gives you static tension through the whole body as you perform it, as well as it dynamically exercises your chest, arms and shoulders. I am a big fan of personalized workout programs and don’t like to give generic advice on how to work out.

Old Formula with Great Results, Peace + Love = Happiness




Achieving Peace Love HappinessWe all want peace, love and happiness. Not just one of those three, but all. The thing is we need to step back and realize what each one offers and what all three ofthem can do for us. We ultimately want what is best for us when it comes to our mental state of mind, and these three things are best.

“A state of well-being and contentment,” isn’t that our ultimate goal as humans? Have you ever wondered what makes you happy and why you do the things you do? Basic needs for survival are a given, like food and shelter; everything else you do are things that are intended to make you happy or keep you from becoming unhappy. Agree? Nobody wants to be miserable (although I bet you’ve met some people who seem that way!). The problem is most of us get so caught up in our daily grind that we lose sight of why we do what we do.

WE WANT PEACE LOVE HAPPINESS, we just forget to remember.

Oh, it’s not that easy, is it? Unfortunately not, but new research from the science and psychology of happiness worlds shows that those words – Peace Love Happiness – may not be so unreachable after all.

What Determines Happiness?

How you choose to respond to this data is up to you. The pessimist will not be too thrilled that most of their ability to be happy is predetermined and therefore won’t want to make the effort to improve. My guess is though that YOU are reading this because you care about living a happier life and are excited that a significant forty percent of your level of happiness is in your hands!

So now what? Where do you start? Start with STRONG DESIRE. You gotta want it! Find it hard to get motivated? OK, here you go – happier people are more sociable, energetic, charitable, cooperative, better liked, more satisfied with their work, make more money, they are overall healthier with stronger immune systems and they live longer! Motivated now? If not, then read no further. I wish you all the best.

The most powerful force in the Universe is love. Follow Mr. Anthony’s advice; commit to rid yourself of your self-inflicted emotions of anger and hate. The more you gain control of your negative emotions, the easier it will be to love. Decide to love yourself first, then love your spouse, love your family, love your friends, love everybody. The power of love is profound and contagious. Spread the love and peace will follow. Don’t set out to change the world, concentrate on yourself, but spread the knowledge to family and friends. Do your part to make the world happier one person at a time. When there’s more love, peace will flourish.

True long-lasting Peace Love Happiness can only come from within. External material things are like a drug, they make us want more and more but they will never give us the eternal Peace Love Happiness high we all crave. Don’t get me wrong, I love nice stuff. All things being equal, I’ll take the mansion, luxury cars, boats and beach houses, but be happy within foremost and the nice stuff will come your way much easier.
